Nancy Geary is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Lease and Finance Professional with over 40 years of public accounting experience; over 30 of those years working with clients in the equipment leasing industry. She has provided accounting, tax and consulting services including preparation/review of audited, reviewed and compiled financial statements, income tax planning and preparation, financial projections, budgeting and various consulting services. In addition, she has been hands on in providing portfolio management services, portfolio software selection, conversion and testing, and instruction related to lease accounting and portfolio servicing.

Accomplishments
During her 40-year tenure at ECS Financial Services, Inc., a CPA firm primarily serving the equipment leasing industry, Nancy Geary worked her way up from staff accountant to shareholder. She was instrumental in the start-up and development of the firm’s equipment finance niche, which now represents a majority of the firm’s annual revenues.

Industry
Nancy’s industry association experience includes serving on the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association Service Provider Business Council, serving as a Member of the Board of Directors of the United Association of Equipment Lessors, serving as a Founding Board Member and Vice President of the National Equipment and Finance Association, and serving as Vice President of the Certified Lease and Finance Professional Foundation. Ms. Geary has authored numerous accounting and finance related articles for publication within the leasing industry, and she has served as an instructor, speaker and/or panelist at various leasing industry educational sessions. In December of 2020, Ms. Geary was named to the Monitor’s Top Women in Equipment Finance.

Nancy has been very active with the CLFP Foundation, contributing to several revisions of the CLFP Foundation’s Handbook, serving as an instructor at numerous CLFP Exam Review Courses, and serving as Committee Chair of the Foundation’s Exam Rewrite Committee. In 2013, Nancy was presented the CLFP Foundation’s Cindy Spurdle Award which recognizes a CLFP in Good Standing who has contributed most to the CLFP Foundation and the industry for that year. In 2024 she was honored with a Lifetime Member Award for her involvement in the organization.

Currently Nancy Geary serves as a board member for a private leasing company, and as the Treasurer of an affordable housing charitable organization in Chicago’s North Shore area. In her free time, Nancy helps coordinate events for the 55+ community in Florida where she and her husband reside.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, Champaign, IL and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
